In regard to the lighting for our opening sequence, I think that we would need to use a single light that is just out of shot of the camera but is illuminating all that will be seen on the camera. Also, we do not want it to be too light as then we will be able to get a more eery feel to our opening sequence in which is needed for a horror opening film sequence because it is meant to make the viewer feel a lot more scared or at least fearful of what will happen.

Low level lighting is very often used in horror films to create a creepy mysterious atmosphere, as darkness is usually associated with evil. Darkness also makes people feelmore vulnerable and threatened as they are unable to see as much and people fear the unseen and unknown. They also use many shadows. MW
The time of day is important for horror as if the shots look to light when we film to early on in the day it may result in the whole 'horror' element of our OTS seem very underwhelming as when it is darker at night it allows us to create more tension due to the fact the characters in the scene nor the audience can see what is happening as their vision is slightly obscured.
